This week I am on vacation so I only have 2 quick tips to share with you, but both can amount to great savings.
Auto and Motorcycle Insurance
In BC we have to use ICBC, but you don't have to use them for everything. The collision, fire and theft, comprehensive and additional liability, can be done through many different private carriers and usually for much, much less. Try http://canadiandirect.com/ for one. Your insurance office will also likely carry several options as well. Use the CandianDirect quote as your guide to savings though, you can do it all online. The savings can be significant. Did you also know that you can keep your storage policy on and place temporary permits or short term licensing on your vehicles that you rarely drive. No more having to cancel the storage policy, to put on short term insurance. and then have to get a new storage policy when you are done.
Banking Fees
Are you paying banking fees? Did you know that there is a bank at Superstore )that I have been using personally for over 14 years), there are no fees at all and you get free food. Best of all it is owned by CIBC, so you get access to all of their instant teller networks. Check it out: http://pcfinancial.ca/. Yes, they don't do everything, but they will likely do everything you ever need and it' s all online. I call it the cookie bank, everything is free and you get free cookies too! I see right now they are giving away free ice cream if you sign up.
Until next week, be Frugal and get more from that hard earned dollar!
