Mon. March 18 - Jupiter is cozying to just 5 degrees, about the width of your three middle fingers, from the bright star Aldebaran (al 'DEB eren) tonight. While Jupiter is far brighter in our sky, at home Aldebaran would shine 415 times brighter than our Sun.
Tues. March 19 - This is first quarter Moon night with the early Spring evening sky adorned by the perfect half circle of the waxing Moon.
Wed. March 20 - Watch for news of Spring Equinox gatherings at Pen Henge on Munson Mountain in Penticton and on Middleton Mountain in Vernon. The Sun will have already travelled half way between its rising and setting points on the east and west horizons respectively since the Winter Solstice on December 21.
