Kelowna & Penticton, B.C. – Accelerate Okanagan (AO) introduces two new members to its core team. Ashley Ramsay and Andrew Greer are the Community Managers in Kelowna and Penticton.
CEO Jeff Keen says, “Accelerate Okanagan needed to become more outward facing. AO plays a big role as a community builder, so we have to be active, outward facing, and engaged. We want to do more of that in the future, with clients, members, partners, and the broader community. You can’t do that sitting at a desk.”
Ashley joins Accelerate Okanagan as Community Manager with over ten years experience managing relationships, community, talent as well as a large scope of high profile digital entertainment projects for some of British Columbia’s most prominent animation studios. Formerly with the Okanagan Film Commission, Ashley provided strategic leadership for digital media producers in the Okanagan to help grow production in the region. Ashley’s relationships within the Okanagan community as well as hands-on participation in Accelerate Okanagan and the British Columbia Innovation Council programming gives her a unique perspective on steering the needs of the Okanagan technology community.
After being in the position since May, Ashley comments “It is an honor to be a part of leading our community through unprecedented growth. The Okanagan has built a unique vibrancy that other tech communities strive for. I am passionate about giving back to my community so to be leading this growth is an unbelievable opportunity.”
Andrew joins Accelerate Okanagan as an experienced business analyst, community builder, and sales manager. He cut his teeth at Xerox working on commission in business-to-business sales and sales management. He then transitioned to an analyst and business development role at Launch Lab, which is a technology incubator to help companies start and grow in Eastern Ontario. His work experience is supported by a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and an MBA from the Royal Military College. Andrew has experience in taking products to market and assisting companies with growth strategies. After being here for about a month, Andrew comments, “South Okanagan has an excellent community of people who are operating in the knowledge economy, and want to help further build that community. We are looking to help companies who want to commercialize technology-based products in a few main sectors; information & communications tech, clean & green tech, and life science & agriculture tech. We are here to help build the entrepreneurial community, and provide a structured program to help those companies commercialize their products.”
Accelerate Okanagan delivers programs, services, and events to help the local technology community. To learn more, or to become a member or client, visit www.accelerateokanagan.com.
