After dropping three straight, the Kelowna Chiefs are back in the win column.
The team welcomed the Penticton Lakers to Rutland Arena on Saturday September 29th where the Chiefs shut out Penticton 4 – 0 Rookie goaltender Kenny Fitzgerald earned his first KIJHL career shutout. Scoring for the Chiefs was Brendan Jost (1G), Scott Renner (2G) and Captain Kyle Clerke (1G,1A) Adding assists was Jorden Lingel, Dylan Jamieson, Jordan Salahor, Quade Hamlin, Colton Dachwitz, and Jordan Steel.
The victory comes on the heels of a 4 – 2 loss to the Revelstoke Grizzlies on Friday September 28th. Quade Hamlin and Mitchell Barker netted goals for the Chiefs. Tyler O’Donnell suffered the loss in net.
The Chiefs are now 3 and 3 in the early KIJHL season, good enough for a total of 6 points.
Up next for the Kelowna Chiefs is a home game against the Summerland Steam on Sunday September 30th.
