Kenny Byrka and Rachel Ashley - Kerry Park July 13, 2012

Location
Event Location: Kerry Park

Start Time
7:30 pm

Sleddogs front man, Kenny Byrka will be performing at Kerry Park with Parks Alive Country Weekend with his daughter Rachel Ashley.

A prairie boy who grew up in Manitoba and later moved to BC where he founded the award winning Canadian Rock trio Sleddogs will take the stage once again during Parks Alive Country weekend with his solo work. Kenny’s gritty vocal delivery and melodic writing hooks support the stories of human nature with strong inflections of those living off the land. Currently residing on a century farm near Graysville MB, Kenny has been developing a recording arts program in Miami School where he is busy as a co-writer for many artists including his daughter Rachel Ashley. With all of this on the go the seeds are now sewn for the production of another solo EP. Fans can look forward to a release date in the fall of 2012.

Kenny will be accompanied with his daughter Rachel Ashley. Rachel has developed a strong passion for writing and performing country music. At the impressive age of 16, she already has 40-plus gigs under her belt this past year alone, and a diverse catalog of songs – some of which have been co-written with the likes of Canadian writer Ron Irving, and veteran Nashville songwriter Marc Alan Barnette. Her love for music, consistent determination, a pure heart-warming voice, and the ability to play several instruments such as the guitar, piano, mandolin, and banjo, are sure signs that this singer-songwriter has what it takes to make her dream of becoming a country star a reality.
