What is your mission?

My mission is to introduce Kelowna to a brand new shopping experience. Perch is Kelowna's premiere fashion shop on wheels, and our small space is full of fun and funky items with a vintage vibe.

If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?

I would like to be an inspiration to other small business owners who are looking for creative business models that will produce positive results.

If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?

I would love to win the Shining Star Award, presented by the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in 5 years?

I want Perch to be set up for business on the busiest street corner in downtown Kelowna!

Who do you consider to be a forerunner within your field?

Due to the fact that Perch is the only mobile shop of its kind in the Okanagan, I'd have to consider myself a forerunner in my field. But, I am inspired by the mobile vintage shops in Portland, Oregon.


What 3 qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?

My business exemplifies innovation, determination, and my own interpretation of topnotch, friendly customer service.

What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?

Since Perch is owned and operated by just me, it's good to remind myself to, "Have fun!"

How does your business/organization impact the community?

Operating a mobile retail store in our community puts Kelowna on the map as a landmark for current and innovative businesses, and that will hopefully entice other creative entrepreneurs to develop their business models here.

What is the best part of operating in Kelowna?

The summer tourist community is the best part of operating in Kelowna.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?

Setting and achieving my goal of opening Perch on Canada Day has been my proudest accomplishment.

If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?

My ideal scenario would be being trapped with the investors of the Space X space transport company. I would pick their brains about how to share administrative control without losing creative control.

What other businesses/organizations in Kelowna would you recommend to others?

I would recommend the many community and farmers' markets in and around Kelowna.

What is your favourite event in Kelowna?



The Interior Savings Moonlight Movie- outdoor, family friendly entertainment.

If I could change 1 thing about Kelowna, it would be:

I would change the glaringly insufficient number of left hand turn lanes and left turn lights on Harvey Avenue.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?

Kelowna's landscape is absolutely fantastic! It is no wonder why people from all over the world come here to play.

My choice for the Kelowna InFocus is:

My choice for the Kelowna InFocus is The Responsible Animal Care Society. They continue to successfully care for the lucky survivors of Kelowna's feral rabbit population (which, by the way, numbers in the hundreds).

Some general comments I would like to share are:

Do not underestimate the opinions of children. My kids think Perch is the coolest store in town!
