In Focus | The Kelowna & District Society for People In Motion
The Kelowna & District Society for People In Motion is a local organization that supports programs and services for people with disabilities. For people who are disabled and unable to get 'out and about' in the standard way, these services are invaluable and help those with disabilities to be included in activites that many of us take for granted. For all of their hard work and the smiles that they bring, we would like to thank the Kelowna & District Society for People in Motion.

Promotion of Active Living for all Persons regardless of their circumstances
Promotion and Delivery of Accessible Services
Provision of quality programs and services delivered by a dedicated and highly skilled volunteer base that consists of a minimum of 80 volunteers
What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?
All of our volunteers and staff are equipped with continuous training and knowledge, provide a safe and welcoming environment for all of our members. Our Staff and Volunteers contribute to both the physical and emotional well being for all participants
How does your business/organization impact the community?
People In Motion has encouraged all persons with disabilities and their families to participate in all areas of active healthy living for the past 25 years. In our last fiscal year People In Motion provided 3,524 individuals an opportunity to access and achieve their many goals of living an active healthy lifestyle through our many programs and services.
What is the best part of operating in Kelowna?
Kelowna has a fantastic community spirit, with an abundance of individuals who are creative, have a variety of skills sets and give many hours of time by sharing their knowledge and expertise while volunteering in the Not-for-Profit sector.
Kelowna has a very generous business community as well and gives back to the community when they can through donations, time and in-kind gifts.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Providing programs and services to individuals with disabilities for 25 years this year.
If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
Social Enterprise field, brain storm on the best practices and business strategies for successful Social Enterprises and new and exciting opportunities for People In Motion of course.
What other businesses/organizations in Kelowna would you recommend to others?
Far too many quality businesses/organizations to chose from to just pick one!!!
What is your favourite event in Kelowna?
People In Motion's - Annual Duck Race and Garden Party
If I could change 1 thing about Kelowna, it would be
Add an Ikea store :0)

Kelowna is a community of diversity that values all aspects of what makes up a healthy lifestyle for all if it's community members. Kelowna welcomes many visitors from all over the country and the world with grace and hosts many events with a special style that only Kelowna can do.
