In Focus | Ty Kuhn

Ty Kuhn grew up in Penticton and was raised on the slopes. The years spent on the mountain led Ty to a career in pro snowboarding and gave him the opportunity to travel the world. Ty now lives in beautiful Kelowna with his recently-wed wife, Leanne, along with their cat and dog. Ty's positivity and enthusiasm are infectious and he is a welcome asset to our Kelowna community. Do you have anything else that you would like to share or say to everyone?
I was born in Penticton BC, riding my local hill Apex. I grew up ski racing and soon found myself snowboarding at the age of 11 and started entering competitions at 14. I have competed in over 400 events ranging from Big Air, Halfpipe, Boardercross, Railslide, Slopestlye, Big Mtn, and even a little racing. I have been fortunate enough to have been sponsored since around the age of 15 and which has led me to a wonderful life of snow filled travels. These adventures have led me to the 8 wonderful years in Fernie, BC and surrounding western canadian ski resorts as well as 16 back to back winters to the southern hemisphere. I truly love this sport and wouldn't want to spend my days any other way. If there is anything you should always remember it is to always stay true to what you believe and do what you want and when you want. Don't let any variable stop you in any way. Also keep your body and mind healthy and strong and find the recipe for making you and yourself completely happy. Oh and kids for gosh sakes don't do drugs....drop cliffs instead.
