Next time you’re in Penticton drop into the Penticton Lakeside Resort and see the newly renovated Barking Parrot Bar. It’s probably one of the most unique, upscale bar/lounges in B.C. The atmosphere has a contemporary urban, chic, metro feeling. There are two new fireplaces, big comfy casual leather and plush chairs and couches, along with high stools and tables and also regular sized tables and chairs. A new sunken 42 foot bar with a polished concrete counter is one of the main new features. The bar has inside and outside seating and will be perfect for warm evenings. The colours are rich sapphire and midnight blues with chocolate and latte browns. It’s beautiful. A much larger stage for entertainers anchors the room. Two new pool tables and a whole new sound and audio system pumps up the whole atmosphere. One of the neatest features of the bar is the “constellations” artwork on the walls.
