To start off with, Chris Hinton, Head Golf Professional, Dean Claggett, Director of Golf and Brice MacDermott, Assistant Professional have formed a business partnership named “Nice Shot Golf” and have entered into a management agreement with Vintage Hills whereas they operate the Pro Shop and Golf Academy and assume ownership of all merchandise. Secondly, Neil Martens is the new owner/operator of their club house restaurant and patio “Nineteen Steak House and Lounge”. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it is certainly not your ordinary golf course restaurant, either in décor or food. Neil has had many years experience in the food industry and it shows. The restaurant will be open all year round. Trent Cabert is their executive chef. You should give it a try. The golf course is an 18 hole championship designed course called a “Masters Course” which is in-between an executive course and a full length golf course, with mid-length playability. We’re starting the “golf tip of the week” again for the season this week. It’s got a new name. Read on! TaylorMade Tip of the Week (by Jon Kadin) – In 2004, TaylorMade introduced to the golf market a driver with Moveable Weight Technology in the form of the R7 driver. The invention of this club was truly revolutionary. It offered a player the ability to change the weighting in the club head, thus dictating his or her ball flight without having to change their swing. This season the club is being offered in two models; the R7 425 and the R7 460. The “425” has four moveable weights and thus offers six different sets of launch conditions. The number “425” stands for 425 cubic centimeters. That is the club head size. The “460” is, you guessed it, 460 cubic centimeters in size. This club offers two moveable weights and gives the player the option to set the club for a draw or fade bias. (John Kadin is the new Director of Golf at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club Call 861-4240.). Greg Murtland is the territory manager for TaylorMade. Birthdays of the week: Maxine DeHart is a |
