Jigsaw Trading Co. owned and operated by Tracy Hutton has opened at 2950 Pandosy Street. This ladies clothing shop has a warm and inviting atmosphere right from the time you stroll up the walk-way of the lovely renovated stand-alone building to the time you leave. Catering to the age group of about 35 years and up, this shop has a unique selection of clothing, jewellery, purses and accessories. One line they carry is “Sympli travel” which is comfortable to wear, packs light, is no hassle care, has several mix and match pieces, including a petal skirt, palazzo pants, tunic and cardigans; all with a lot of flare. One really neat piece of clothing that I thought was just super was “Button Wraps” by Chloe Angus in Vancouver. These wonderful, versatile wraps come in 15 colours and are more than just a wrap. Had the most pleasant dining experience at Hector's Casa (Authentic Mexican Food) owned by Hector Tisnado, at 2911 Pandosy Street, which I hadn't visited for quite some time. They have a lovely, hidden patio in the back of the restaurant, built and decorated to make you feel like you are right in Mexico. The food was great, we had good service and it was reasonably priced for the portions. I tried the Enchiladas Suiza, which was recommended by our server. It was excellent and not too heavy. A great experience and a place to try. Call 250-860-3868.

It's time of year again for the KGH Foundation (Medical Cardiac Centre) Seventh Annual Celebrity Tennis Classic and Bocce Ball tournament hosted by the Lightbody's at 2302 Abbott Street on September 12-14. In attendance will be many celebrities, tennis pros and the annual grudge match between the doctors and the lawyers, which is always a blast. The lawyers tell me it is their year to win, being defeated five years in a row. This year's event is honouring the memory of the late Dr. Robin Wynn-Williams who fought a long and courageous battle against cancer. He was a stalwart member of the renowned Nooners Tennis Club for over 30 years. We also have fond memories of Dr. Wynn-Williams as he was the DeHart family doctor for many, many years and Chris' mother Mary thought the world of him. For more info contact Walley and Marietta Lightbody at 250-762-2783 or luxcorpus@shaw.ca
