Two men have been charged in relation to a stabbing that left a 19-year-old man dead two years ago.
On May 5, around 11 pm, officers responded to a report of a stabbing.
Richard “Richie” Todd was found critically injured and died in hospital from his injuries.
The North District Major Crime Unit took over the investigation shortly afterwards.
On Monday, the Williams Lake RCMP said Michael Bauer, 26, and Garrett Shirey, 25, had been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death of Todd.
According to a news release, Bauer was arrested in Williams Lake and Shirey was arrested in Houston.
“This was a thorough investigation spanning over two years and it shows our investigators’ determination to seek out the truth,” said Cpl. Brett Urano, spokesperson for the BC RCMP, in the news release.
“We would like to thank the public and our partners for their assistance throughout the investigation leading to these charges.”
Both men remain in custody and are due to virtually appear in court on May 6.
