Kelowna hosting Country Music Week and CCMA Awards in 2025

The Canadian country music industry will be descending on the Central Okanagan next year.

It was revealed today that Kelowna will play host to Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards in September 2025.

While it’s the third time that British Columbia has hosted the major event, it will be the first time that it’s held in Kelowna, or even the Okanagan as a whole.

“The city’s country music scene is a vibrant part of our community,” said Mayor Tom Dyas. “We look forward to showcasing our thriving cultural scene and world-class hospitality while welcoming some of Canada’s most talented country artists.”

The CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association) says Country Music Week was created in 1977 as an annual effort to “heighten awareness and increase exposure” for Canadian country music artists.

It’s made up of three components: a music festival with several exciting components, an industry conference and the CCMA Awards show.

CCMA President Amy Jeninga said the organization is “thrilled” to be bringing Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards to the beautiful Okanagan.

“Kelowna’s blend of natural beauty, vibrant culture and hospitality makes it the perfect setting for this prestigious event,” she explained. “The city’s unique charm, complemented by its urban energy, will showcase the best in Canadian country music.”

Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards will be hosted by Edmonton this fall, with Thomas Rhett and MacKenzie Porter tabbed as hosts for the awards show.

Any Kelowna or BC country fans that want to ensure their attendance at the 2025 event in the Okanagan are encouraged to sign up here for presale access.
