Mounties are asking hunters to check their trail cameras as the search for a missing Kelowna senior continues.
Allan Francescutti, 79, went missing on April 16.
Police are now asking anyone with cameras on trails in the Dee Lake/Doreen Lake area that show the road.
“We know hunters sometimes have cameras located on the trails in that area and we are hopeful one of them caught Mr. Francescutti,” Kelowna RCMP’s missing persons coordinator, Cst. Brigitte Fodell, said in a statement.
Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) personnel, meanwhile, are planning to search the area on foot over the weekend.
Earlier this week, COSAR said it was pausing its search for Francescutti but will resume “once we have further leads.”
The volunteer group also said that it “fully expects to have another large mutual aid turnout on the weekend.”
It added: “So far volunteer searchers have put in more than 1,000 hours combing the area around Dee Lake.
“If you have game cameras along any roads in the Aberdeen plateau, please check them for signs of Mr Francescutti.”
Anyone with footage is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 immediately and reference the file number 2024-19989.
